What you'll need

  • Online opt-out form (third-party guides: profile URL + email, then a second form after email verification)
  • OR phone request at (877) 551-9688
  • PeopleFinders does NOT accept privacy requests by email
  • CAPTCHA/security check

Step by step

  1. Find your profile on peoplefinders.com and copy its URL (third-party guides).
  2. Go to https://www.peoplefinders.com/opt-out (linked as 'Opt-Out Form' from peoplefinders.com/do-not-sell).
  3. Paste your profile URL, enter your email, complete the security check and submit (third-party guides).
  4. Click the verification link in the email. It opens a second form; fill in your name and address details and submit (third-party guides).
  5. Alternatively, call (877) 551-9688 to opt out by phone.
  6. Repeat the opt-out from time to time, because PeopleFinders says your data may come back.

Tips and gotchas

  • Email privacy requests are not processed; use the online form or the phone line.
  • The opt-out page isn't linked from the homepage. Reach it via the footer 'Do Not Sell My Personal Information' page or the direct URL.
  • Plan to re-submit periodically, as PeopleFinders recommends.
  • To also stop cookie-based selling or sharing, adjust cookie settings or turn on Global Privacy Control (per the Do Not Sell notice).

Will it stay removed?

PeopleFinders says that because it 'regularly receive[s] new public records so even if you opt out, your publicly available information may appear in our data products again in the future. We recommend you periodically refresh your opt-out request.' It treats opt-outs of public-records data as 'a courtesy'.
