Tips and gotchas

  • Multiple records must each be opted out separately.
  • If you created a FamilyTreeNow account or family tree, delete the tree before deleting the account.
  • The 'Do Not Sell' opt-out is separate from removing your public listing.

Will it stay removed?

First-party (search-index text of FamilyTreeNow privacy/opt-out notice): "we regularly receive new public records so even if you opt out, your publicly available information may appear in our data products again in the future. We recommend you periodically refresh your opt-out request."
